In no particular order, here's some stuff going on.
- I'm not feeling too good. I'm going to take it easy and continue the diet, though I think it was the time I spent working in the sun that I am yet not totally re-acquainted with. I love the cold far more as I can't take off skin like I can add on layers. The exercise is alright but I'm gonna lay low for a few days to play it safe, if there's no improvement there will definitely be a trip to the doctor. There's a lot going on with my body right now, with both the weight loss and workouts, there's a legitimate reason that people are advised to see a doctor before beginning any program, which I did. So who knows, the last thing I need to do is collapse and get sent to the hospital :P
- Helped out a friend best I could from Sunday to Tuesday afternoon, easily fell asleep on the ride back and had a nap before heading to a very awesome and popular fireworks show at Columbia Lake, Waterloo. The lightsabre with Canuck flag on top was again a huge hit with numerous requests to light it up again for people to show their friends where to meet them.
- In the sad news dept., Don S. Davis, who played General Hammond on Stargate passed away. I'm glad I met him when I did and feel for his family and those who called him a friend. A tribute video for him was posted to the DragonCon community, here's the link: http://www.gateworld.net/index.shtml (the video is on the right-hand side).
- In the random awesome front, re-found a friend I used to work with and spent about 5 hours talking about... everything. In the course of the conversation we both discovered a mutual appreciation for all things Firefly /Serenity. She can pull off an amazing Kaylee with the right gear and her eyes almost jumped out of their sockets when the course of the conversation turned towards making her a costume. Yeah, this is gonna be great! She's already come over and we got measurements done :)
- Ran into a former colleague who heads up the job action centre for those who lost their jobs after the plant shut down, and I'm not alone in feeling that I'm too smart for what the manufacturing sector is looking for. In some ways I'm not impressed but I understand the issue of there not being a good 'fit' for the job. I might just ride it out until school in the fall, can manage that well enough.
- Found a pair of army jungle boots in my size for $40 at Beaver's! Finally, something to wear that isn't metal and thick winter grade leather, quite comfortable and will be handy for the USCM outfit. Speaking of the Colonial Marine costume, I'm at the personal detailing part of things, first up was the requisite AMF on the back. An internet cookie for those who know what particular reference is being made there :P I may put a witty phrase on the skull bucket, a pair of dice showing double single pips, and perhaps a silver fern or two, maybe on the legs.

- Looks like it's the end of the line with the lovin' of the rapidshare. Newer rounds of changes that were even less fun than the previous recent set are up and running... oh well there's more file services elsewhere :)
- I have a work table now, 2 months too late but I have one none the less. I love garage sales.
- Fell off the wagon again and enjoyed a bottle and 4 cans of Coke this week, also in the equation is a large pizza... I earned it :)
- Just heard on my favourite radio station that they want people to call/email with their brushes with celebs, I wonder if they'd be interested in my David Carradine experience :P
